The date was the 9th of October. The year: 2016. Three more days and our protagonist will become 16 years of age. But enough numbers.
Sitting at his desk, music blaring from his brothers room, Caleb opened up his computer with absolutely no purpose. Text books and revision guides cluttered his desk almost entirely obscuring it. Old plates and mugs sat defiantly around him. An old poster looked over at the scene without interrupting.
One thing led to another (as it always does since that is how the flow of time functions as far as we know) and Caleb started to type. Absolutely nothing of importance was written that day, however it may be of relevance at a future date. Who knows.
Finishing his sentence, he picked up his trusty, yet partly broken, bass and continued to noodle for half an hour or so. Only a few hours earlier and he was up in front of the congregation, attempting to noodle but so ineffectively it may have been more productive not to have had a bass player in the first place. He enjoyed it none the less.
Following the bass 'performance' there wasn't much to do except eat - roast (traditional for Sunday)- and revise. There was to be a maths test on the coming Wednesday, however Caleb knew not what to revise since he hadn't done the test yet so couldn't possibly know what he was falling behind on.
The rest of the day passed with languor, despite the relative autumnal chill.
